Despite the rhetoric that it is dominated by white men, accounts receivable management is actually a highly diverse industry that allows thousands of women and people of color to lead successful, fulfilling careers. According to the latest occupational data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), women accounted for a whopping 72.1% of all collection agents. Furthermore, roughly 41.6% of collection agents were non-white. A breakdown of collectors by race and ethnicity is illustrated below:
